We design and install glass pool fencing across Balmain, Leichhardt, Haberfield, Drummoyne, Five Dock and Concord. The City of Canada Bay has 36km of waterfront, and frameless glass keeps that outlook open. On a heritage street we keep the fence line clean. A Balmain side street can drop from the ridge toward the water.

Balmain, Leichhardt and Haberfield are in the Inner West Council. Drummoyne, Five Dock and Concord are in the City of Canada Bay. Name the street on the enquiry. Around Ramsay Road the ground passes from Haberfield into Five Dock, and the council changes. The two councils do not publish the same notes for pool owners.

    Glass, screens and gates

Frameless panels sit on stainless steel spigots. Semi-frameless panels use slim posts where the run needs them. We use 12mm toughened safety glass. All our glass pool fences are designed and installed to meet or exceed the requirements set by Australian Standards (AS1926.1). We take care of compliance from start to finish and provide all necessary certification.

Aluminium pool fencing suits a boundary that should read as a solid edge. A privacy screen covers a side path or a sitting spot and does not replace the barrier. Glass balustrades cover stairs and balconies. Sydney Glass Pool Fencing has 10+ years of experience and 100+ projects completed.

    Ridge, slope and garden lot

Tell us the ground as well as the suburb. Darling Street follows the Balmain ridge, some shore streets fall toward the Parramatta River, and the Iron Cove conservation area has a flatter pocket around Turner Street. Leichhardt has long gentle slopes north of Parramatta Road, with the town hall on the high corner of Marion Street and Norton Street. In Haberfield the pool belongs at the rear, so the single storey garden stays in view from the street.

Five Dock Bay runs from flat ground to a slope, often behind a seawall. Drummoyne mixes apartments with house pools that face the river. In Concord, Park Avenue is where the line stays quiet.

    What to have ready

Send the street, whether you want glass, aluminium, or both, and any screen, stair, balcony rail or driveway gate. Photos of the pool edge, the walking path and any step in the paving help. We offer a free site measure and quote. The cost guide explains which parts of the job change the figure.

What each council asks of a pool owner

Inner West Council asks the owner for a child-resistant barrier, registration, and a resuscitation chart near the water. Before a sale it asks for a certificate of compliance, or a relevant occupation certificate with a certificate of registration, or a certificate of non-compliance. Before a lease it asks for a certificate of compliance, or a relevant occupation certificate with a certificate of registration. The edition of the barrier standard follows when the pool was built.

The City of Canada Bay publishes a fencing checklist and asks an owner to have a barrier that fails the check put right. In most cases a swimming pool cannot be installed without consent. A compliance certificate after an inspection that finds the barrier compliant is valid for three years. Our guide to pool fence requirements in NSW sets out the barrier, the gate and the certificate.
