Private Pool Compliance Certification
A clear path through pool barrier compliance
Make sure your swimming pool or spa barrier meets current NSW safety requirements with a private pool compliance inspection.
We can assist property owners, landlords, real estate agents and property managers with arranging pool barrier inspections and identifying any areas that may require attention before certification.
Where rectification work is required, our team can also assist with completing the necessary fencing, gate, latch and barrier works, helping make the compliance process as straightforward as possible.
The inspection and certification decision sit with the authorised certifier. Our role is to help you organise the process and address the fencing work identified, with a clear scope before repairs begin.

How we can help
Support at each stage
Inspection coordination
Tell us about the property and we can help you arrange a private pool barrier inspection with an appropriately registered certifier.
Clear next steps
An inspection report provides the starting point for understanding any barrier issues and planning the work required.
Practical rectification
Where fencing, panels, gates or latches need attention, we can discuss suitable repairs and provide a scope for the work.
Property access planning
For managed or tenanted properties, tell us who will arrange access so inspection and repair visits can be coordinated.
Our process
From the first enquiry to reinspection
Share the property details
Send the suburb, pool or spa details, photos of the barrier and any previous inspection reports. Let us know about timing and access requirements.
Arrange an inspection
We assist with arranging a private inspection. The certifier assesses the barrier against the requirements that apply to the property.
Review any required work
If issues are identified, we discuss the fencing and gate repairs we can carry out and provide a quote for the agreed scope.
Prepare for the next inspection
Once the agreed work is complete, reinspection can be arranged where needed. The authorised certifier determines whether a certificate can be issued.

What to have ready
Photos of the full fence line, both sides of the gate and nearby landscaping can help explain the layout before a visit. Include any existing inspection report and identify who can provide access to the pool area.
If you are preparing a property for sale or lease, tell us your intended timeframe at the first enquiry. Inspection availability, the extent of any repairs and reinspection need to be considered together.

Inspection and repair are separate steps
A pool barrier inspection assesses the existing barrier. It may identify work to gates, latches, panels or surrounding features. The required scope depends on the property and the inspection findings.
Completing repairs does not itself issue a certificate. The authorised certifier assesses the result. If you already have a report, our Certification Works service can help with the fencing and barrier items it identifies.
Next step
